Render production-quality on-model catalog photography of AI jackets — including blazers, coats, and shackets — in under 10 minutes. Upload a flat-lay garment photo and a clothed model photo; receive a 4K judge-graded render of the model wearing the garment.
Jackets and coats are the hardest pieces to shoot on a flat-lay and among the most expensive to shoot on a model. This page covers what NotShot checks on outerwear, which jacket and coat types it handles, what to upload, what a drop costs, and when a different tool or a real shoot is the better choice.
A buyer judges a jacket on structure: the collar, the closures, the pockets and the way the shoulders sit. Those are the points every AI jacket render is scored on before it reaches you.
Coats run through the same jacket path: trench coats, wool coats, parkas and overcoats. The judge scores closure integrity, shoulder seating, lapel symmetry and drape consistency with your flat-lay.
Long coats need more of the body in the frame than a cropped jacket. The renderer keeps the model photo's framing, so a cropped input gives a cropped output. If the coat ends below the knee and you want the hem in the picture, use a model photo that shows the full length.
Any jacket or coat you can photograph as a flat-lay or packshot can be uploaded. These are the types the jacket path is built for, and what the judge looks at on each.
| Type | What a shopper checks | What the judge scores |
|---|---|---|
| Blazers | Lapels, button stance, shoulder line | Lapel symmetry, closure integrity, shoulder seating |
| Shackets and overshirts | Pockets, buttons, how it hangs open or closed | Closures, pockets, drape against the flat-lay |
| Trench coats | Collar, belt line, length | Lapel symmetry, closure integrity, drape |
| Wool coats and overcoats | Shoulder fit, collar, length | Shoulder seating, closures, drape consistency |
| Parkas | Zip, pockets, overall shape | Closure integrity, shoulder seating, drape |
Outerwear never sells on its own. A coat looks right only over the right knit, trousers and shoes. NotShot puts a full outfit of up to 8 garments into one 4K render, so the jacket is layered over the rest of the look in a single pass instead of being pasted on top.
For the jeans underneath, see AI denim model photography. For a coat over a dress, see AI dress product photography on model and the AI dresses category page.
An outerwear drop usually means many styles on one face. Upload a model your brand owns, or create one once, and the identity stays locked across every render. See uploading your own model and one AI model, every scene.
A flat-lay or packshot of the jacket or coat. The judge compares the render with this photo, so show the piece the way you want it sold: collar laid flat, closures visible, pockets not hidden under a fold.
Model photo must be framed at least head-to-thigh. Headshots and chest-only crops are auto-rejected at upload.
Closure integrity, shoulder seating, lapel symmetry, drape consistency with the source flat-lay.
A shipped 4K render is 4 credits. At the default rate of $0.50 per credit that is $2.00 per image, and credit packs bring it down:
| How you buy credits | Price | Per 4K render |
|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go (default rate) | $0.50 per credit | $2.00 |
| Credit pack | $29 for 100 credits | $1.16 |
| Credit pack | $99 for 400 credits | $0.99 |
| Credit pack | $299 for 1,500 credits | $0.80 |
A worked example: 12 jacket and coat styles in 2 colourways each, one render per colourway, is 24 renders or 96 credits. That is $48 at the default rate, or one $29 pack of 100 credits. Renders that fail the judge are refunded automatically.
Compare that with what catalog photography costs a DTC brand, and see how NotShot credits work. New accounts start with 50 free credits, enough for 12 renders, and no card is needed.
