Zalando image requirements for partner brands
Zalando publishes its image rules for partner brands in Partner University. This page quotes the baseline Zalando image guidelines and the apparel image guide so you can check a shoot or an AI render before you send it.
Image size and aspect ratio
| Spec | Zalando value |
|---|---|
| Best practice size | 1801 x 2600 pixels |
| Minimum size | 762 x 1100 pixels |
| Minimum for designer brands | 1800 x 2600 pixels |
| Aspect ratio | 1:1.44 (portrait) |
| File format | JPG/JPEG |
| Maximum file size | 20MB |
| Color mode | sRGB |
Values as stated in the Zalando image guidelines. The portrait ratio matters most: a square Shopify or Amazon export has to be recropped to 1:1.44, so leave room above the head and below the feet when you shoot or render.
Sharpness
high resolution at any image size (correct file size but blurry image will lead to a rejection)
Zalando image guidelines
Background
Submit primary packshots on white. Zalando's guidelines say the platform automatically applies a light gray background to primary packshots that were submitted with a white background, so you do not add the gray yourself.
How many images and which views
For apparel, accessories and shoes the guidelines ask for 3 images in total, and the catalog view is a model front crop or the primary packshot. Hosiery needs 1 image.
Use the same model and styling for all views of an article, except for unisex and size-inclusive presentations.
Zalando apparel image guide
Sole, detail or back views are only permitted as secondary views.
Zalando apparel image guide
For invisible mannequin and flat-lay images the apparel guide asks you to always include the inner back view.
Styling rules
Tops: Show sleeves in full length. Please don't fold, roll up or prop them up.

Where NotShot fits
Zalando wants the same model across every view of an article. NotShot lets you create one AI model and reuse it across the catalog, rendering each flat-lay on that model, so the front, back and detail views stay consistent. An AI judge checks garment fidelity on every render. See a consistent AI model across a catalog.
