A photo shows what a garment looks like. A short video shows how it moves: how a skirt swings, how satin catches the light, how a knit stretches. Etsy lets you add video to every listing, with a short list of limits on length, file size and resolution, and it strips the sound. This page collects what Etsy Help says, quoted with the date we checked it, and turns it into a video plan for clothing listings. We make NotShot, an AI on-model photo tool, so we also cover where on-model images fit.
Etsy's help article How to Add Listing Videos (checked by us on 1 November 2026) lists these limits:
Etsy also says listing videos give shoppers a better idea of your products and can help improve how your listings appear in Etsy search. For clothing, shoot at 1080px or more so the weave and print hold up, and keep each clip well inside the 15 second limit.
From the same article: on Etsy.com, open Shop Manager, select Listings, choose a listing or create a new one, go to Photo and video, and drag and drop or upload your videos. In the Etsy Seller app, select Listings, choose the listing, select Listing to see its details, then use the plus sign under Photo and video, or View all and then Add a video. To delete a video, select it and use the trash can icon (checked 1 November 2026).
Because Etsy removes the audio, a clothing video cannot rely on a voiceover about fabric weight or fit. Everything has to be visible. That favors simple, slow motion that shows one thing well:
Two videos per listing is enough for one fit clip on a model and one close fabric clip. Keep the same light and background as your photos, so the video and the listing images look like one set.
Etsy's listing image requirements help article (checked by us on 1 November 2026) says Etsy requires at least one unedited photo for most items, and that other images can use photo editing tools, including AI, as long as they accurately represent what buyers will receive. It also says not to use AI to hide damage or change an item's appearance in a way that could mislead buyers. That article is about photos. We hold listing videos to the same standard: the color, print and cut in the clip should match the garment the buyer gets, and the unedited photo still belongs in the listing.

A clothing listing on Etsy needs on-model photos, and video needs a model too, which usually means a shoot for every new piece. NotShot renders your garment on your own model from the product photo you already have, and can turn one of those pictures into a short vertical reel with a preset motion such as a slow walk or a hand brushing the fabric. Every render is checked by an AI judge that compares it with your upload for color, print and cut, which is the accuracy Etsy asks for. Renders below the quality bar are refunded automatically, so you pay for photos that pass the check, not for attempts. Plans are on the pricing page.
