On Pinterest, a clothing brand is judged by its Pin images. Pinterest publishes one recommended Pin size, and its catalog feature turns every product in your store into a product Pin from your own product images. This page collects what Pinterest's own help center says, quoted with the date we checked it, and turns it into a photo set for clothing. We make NotShot, an AI on-model photo tool, so we also cover where on-model images fit.
Pinterest's ad spec guide, Pinterest product specs (checked by us on 1 November 2026), gives these image specs for standard Pins:
Shopping ads follow the same specs as standard image and video ads, according to the same guide. For clothing, 2:3 is good news: a full-length on-model photo is already a tall frame, so a model shot exported at 1000 x 1500 or larger shows the whole outfit from head to shoes.
Pinterest's article Before you get started with catalogs (checked by us on 1 November 2026) lists the fields of a product data source. For images, it says:
The additional image rule matters most for clothing. Each extra image becomes its own Pin, so a back view, a detail shot and an outfit shot each get their own chance to be found in search. Treat every image in the feed as a Pin a shopper might see on its own, without the rest of the set beside it.
For carousel ads built from your own images, the Pinterest product specs guide (checked 1 November 2026) allows 2 to 5 images per carousel, PNG or JPEG, up to 20 MB per image, at 1:1 or 2:3. Carousels built from catalog creative take 2 to 10 images and videos. For clothing, a carousel of front, back, detail and outfit views on the same model works like a short lookbook in the feed.
The same guide says that for Pins with a white or near white background, Pinterest automatically applies a faint black layer on top of the creative in light mode, and makes no change in dark mode. So a packshot on pure white will not look pure white in every feed. An on-model photo with a soft studio tone or a scene background is less affected, and it still shows the garment's real color.

Pinterest turns each catalog image into a Pin, so a clothing catalog needs several strong on-model images per product, in every colorway, at a tall 2:3 frame. NotShot renders your garment on your own model from the product photo you already have, in portrait, with the same model across the catalog so your Pins look like one brand. Every render is checked by an AI judge that compares it with your upload for color, print and cut, so the Pin shows the color the customer receives. Renders below the quality bar are refunded automatically, so you pay for photos that pass the check, not for attempts. Plans are on the pricing page.
